We measure how often your player has to reconnect
or re-buffer in a 60-second window.
The fewer reconnections, the better the station's reliability rating.
★ Superstar
0 reconnects/min — flawless, no buffering
✓ Great
1 reconnect/min — very stable
~ Fair
2 reconnects/min — noticeable interruptions
✗ Poor
3+ reconnects/min — frequent dropouts
Why does buffering happen?
Network congestion: When many people use your internet at
once (streaming, gaming, downloads), there's less bandwidth available for radio.
Server load: A popular station
serving many listeners at high bitrates may struggle to keep all connections stable.
Distance & routing: Packets
travel through many internet "hops" between the station server and your device.
Longer or more congested paths cause more packet loss.
Our adaptive buffer: When we
detect reconnects, we automatically increase the pre-buffer size so your player
has more audio "headroom" before needing to reconnect. Tiers: 32 KB → 256 KB → 1 MB.
Ratings are submitted to our database after each 60-second window while you listen.
They help other listeners choose reliable stations.
Dual-deck DJ mode requires a desktop browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) on Windows or Linux
with a viewport of at least 1024 × 640 pixels and a precise pointer.
On touch devices, use the standard single-deck webplayer instead.
